What does my child's assessment involve?+
A structured clinical assessment with a qualified ADHD clinician who reviews your child's history and how they present at home and at school, using recognised diagnostic criteria. You complete parent (and where appropriate school) questionnaires beforehand, your child attends the appointment with you, and you receive a written diagnostic report afterwards.
What ages do you assess?+
We assess children and young people aged 6 to 17. If your child is under 6, or 18 or over, get in touch and we'll point you the right way - adult assessments (18+) are available on our adult service.
Who carries out the assessment?+
Assessments are completed by a qualified ADHD clinician. Our team has experience across mental health, general medicine, paediatrics and neurodevelopmental care, and works to recognised clinical standards.
Will school accept the report?+
The report can support discussions with school about your child's needs and possible adaptations - including SENCo and EHCP conversations. Schools and local authorities make their own decisions, but a clear, specialist report helps guide those conversations. The report and school letter are included in the £895.
Does my child need a GP referral?+
No referral is needed to book. You can arrange your child's assessment directly using the scheduler on this page. After diagnosis we prepare a letter for your GP as standard.
What happens after diagnosis?+
If ADHD is diagnosed, your clinician will talk you through the next-steps and support options available and explain the recommended options. You receive the report, GP letter and a report for school. Any next steps are always your choice.
How does the online assessment work?+
Child and young person ADHD assessments are carried out online, by video from the comfort of home, so your child can be seen wherever you are in the UK. It is a calm, child-friendly appointment your child attends with you - no travel, no waiting room.
Why is the assessment £895?+
Because it is a complete, regulated clinical service - not a questionnaire or a quick screening call. The £895 covers a full 2-hour specialist assessment with a qualified ADHD clinician, a detailed diagnostic report, the letters you need (including to your GP and a report for school), and next-steps planning if ADHD is diagnosed. It is one clear, fixed price with the paperwork built in, rather than a low starting figure that grows appointment by appointment.
Is it worth paying more than cheaper services?+
We think so, for two reasons. First, a diagnosis you can rely on - completed by a qualified clinician to recognised standards - and a report school and others will take seriously. Second, the real cost. Cheaper services often keep the headline price low and add per-review charges and ongoing monthly fees afterwards, which usually adds up to far more over the first year. Our reviews are £35-£145 (and free for eligible patients), with a route toward lower-cost NHS care afterwards.
